How do you see the future of veterinarians? Tell your story and be part of a game-changing think tank

veterinary profession in the future; vets save world
This cartoon is the result of a collaboration between Rafael Gallardo Arjonillo and Anne Fawcett.

What will the world look like in 2031? Where will vets fit in?

Here’s an opportunity to be part of shaping that future. All you need to do is write or record a story. See the details below.

The Australasian Veterinary Boards Council is conducting its biennial Education Forum on December 1 and 2 in Melbourne. This strategic foresight forum aims to identify emerging issues and trends in veterinary education that will impact on the registration and supply of veterinarians in Australia and New Zealand.
The 2016 Forum (VET2031) will provide an opportunity for veterinary schools, students, recent and longer term veterinary graduates,  veterinary deans and other important stakeholders  to consider the direction of veterinary education in the region, how it compares with trends internationally, and how world’s best practice is achieved.

This year, AVBC is collaborating with the Veterinary Schools of Australia and New Zealand (VSANZ) and a futurist, Paul Higgins to look to the year 2031.

As part of that process we are looking for stories “from the future of vets in 2031” to inform the participants in their deliberation of what veterinary services and veterinary education might look like.

As an incentive for submitting a story the submitters of the three best stories will be given the opportunity to participate in the forum.

All you have to do if you wish to participate is to write or tell a story from your future self in 2031.

We are looking for a half to one page written story or 2–3 minutes of video recorded on your phone.

If you are interested please send an email to the address below and you will receive a prompting question and a file transfer link for you to transfer your story to us. Please submit the story before 17th November.
