FAQ

I HAVE A SICK ANIMAL, WHAT DO I DO?

Consult your closest veterinarian as soon as possible. It is not possible to assess or treat an animal without obtaining a history and performing a full physical examination, and possibly other tests.

WHO IS THIS BLOG FOR?

Those with an interest in animals, animal welfare, companion animals, veterinary science, or all of the above.

WHAT ABOUT PATIENT PRIVACY?

Good point. Animals, like babies, can't consent to being photographed or written about. But case reports and medical images can be extremely powerful tools for communicating aspects of a case (I'm a big fan of Stack et al's "Handbook of Medical Photography"). Images taken of other people's animals are used with permission. Please note that I am very respectful when taking a photo of an animal and go to lengths to ensure their dignity is maintained. I avoid using the patient's or owner's real name unless permission is granted. Images are taken for educational purposes and used in good faith that readers will view them in this light. Unless owned by someone else, images from this site should not be reproduced without written permission from Anne Quain.
